About

The Lund Human Rights Research Hub (LHRRH) is a joint initiative between Lund University and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute (RWI). The hub serves to showcase the wide range of human rights research undertaken at Lund University/RWI and to stimulate increased collaboration and multi-disciplinary research and education. In line with Lund University's vision to be ‘a world-class university that works to understand, explain and improve our world and the human condition’, the hub further works to create stronger ties between its research and relevant policy-makers, practitioners and the general public.

LHRRH is not a physical center, but links the more than 40 researchers engaged in human rights research and education across a broad range of faculties, institutes and centers at Lund University/RWI. The research hub provides a common platform for research, education and policy initiatives, pooling information and outputs from the participating institutions and researchers, as well as organising joint events and developing cross-cutting projects.

The hub is based on the following four principles:

  • A multi-disciplinary research environment – enable conversations and collaborations across disciplinary boundaries to develop innovative and cutting-edge research in the field of human rights.
  • Collaboration on education and training – jointly promote and exchange resources in regard to human rights programs and courses at Lund University/RWI as well as training for practitioners in Sweden and internationally.
  • A university+ environment – promoting stronger dialogue and interaction between researchers and stakeholders from the public sector, private sector and civil society.
  • Global partnerships – enable cooperation and partnerships with other leading human rights research institutions, including in the Global South.

The Lund Human Rights Research Hub is open to all researchers and institutions at Lund University and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute (see contact information below). The hub is coordinated by a steering group with members of each participating institution and the RWI, which serves as the Secretariat.
