 Courts – from Forum to the Future” at the Pufendorf Institute for Adva
 nced Studies\, a group of researchers working within law\, history\, legal
  history\, theology and languages (Latin and Greek) gather. The independen
 ce and impartiality of judges\, and the ambition to find the truth through
  judicial proceedings\, have been defined by different types of oaths from
  Antiquity and onwards. In the ASG we discuss how we can understand these 
 legal oaths today\, what they mean and what role they play in finding the 
 truth and for the independence and impartiality of judges. And what do the
  standards of independence and impartiality mean when AI becomes part of d
 ecision-making? During the lunch seminar we will present the results from 
 a workshop “The Right to a Fair Trial – Historical Foundations” arra
 nged by the ASG with support from the profile area.You can read a short in
