Making space for human rights: Thai nationalism revisited

Layman's description
This research explores the relationship between two dominant discourses in Thai political history since 1970's: human rights & nationalism. I study practices of oppositional groups and trace the history they produce in contestation with a dominant national history. Through photographs of mass violence I trace a history of political agency and the claiming of national belonging.
